K. M. Kuchkarov holds a Doctor of Science (DSc) degree in Physical and Mathematical Sciences and has served as Deputy Director of the S.A. Azimov Physical-Technical Institute, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, since 2025. He graduated from Tashkent State Technical University in 1994, obtained his Ph.D. in 2007, and completed his DSc in 2020.

 With an h-index of 11 and more than 60 publications, his research focuses on the physics and technology of II–VI and I–III–VI₂ thin films, heterostructures, and photovoltaic solar cells based on CdTe, CdS, and Sb₂Se₃. He received the Best Paper Award at the Solar World Congress 2007 (Beijing) and a CRDF (USA) research grant in 2014.
